Nura 17 & 18 status

I’ve been so busy that I haven’t really had time to make this post…

Nura 17 has been waiting on an HD raw since last week (done aside from that), and Nura 18 aired in SD as well. We’ll see about getting the ytv airing capped for 18, but we’re in need of a ts from either the ytv or bs11 airing of 17. If anyone has one (or isn’t as lazy as I am and actually checked share/pd), then PM Quattro on our IRC channel.

Also, do not link us to any TokyoMX raws for 17 or 18.

Edit: Might as well add in here that both Ika and Phi Brain are stalled at typesetting once again. Seriously, the only person who came remotely close to passing was so up himself that he said we should be grateful that he would even apply =_=

Edit 2: Apparently bolding a sentence isn’t enough. So here.

Edit 3: That is way too annoying to leave on the front page.

  3. Kitty says:

Thanks for the hard work! I’m excited about a Nura marathon!

  4. Saito says:

Why don’t just release Nura 17-18 in 480p? There’s nothing to do if it aired that way, and 720p can be released later when there is a better raw… well it’s just an idea.

I’m just gonna quote a previous post because it’s been explained over 9000 times. “We’re not wasting our effort on releasing two versions. I’ve explained this multiple times already.”

  5. Someone says:

Just wondering, but are you gonna stay this slow for Nura or is this only a temporary delay and you will be back to subbing new episodes within a few days of airing?

Asking cause you are about about the only good sub group for Nurarihyon, with the others only releasing low quality and sometimes mixing up episode numbers.

    • Quattro says:

Things get released when we get them done. There’s no guarantee either way. If it’s SD, we get delayed. If the simulcast is late, we get delayed. If someone is busy, we get delayed. There’s really nothing we can do about it. It’s all circumstantial.

Need Nura typesetter for the next chapter? The test wasn’t hard, if need me for Nura I’ll send it.

  7. Khair says:

So what kind of job a typesetter must do?

  8. The raw 720p for Nura 17 has been out for ages … if you’re just waiting for that then here:

Proof that no matter how much we make something stand out in a post, tards will be tards.

      • What difference does it make if it’s one type of release or the other ?
It’s a HD version, if you have timing and subs, etc it makes no sense that you need a special version …

        • AsuraE says:

So if I take a 240p youtube video and reencode it to 1080p, you’re saying that that video would be full hd?

          • What ? .. I never said that… I simple said that if you apply your already done subs to this version (720p) or the one you’re waiting on (720p aswell) there wont be any difference in the outcome …

  9. AsuraE says:

Except that is exactly what you’re saying. Nura occasionally airs in SD, hence why we wait for a HD raw. Whenever that happens, the raws that are available are still 720p, but they’re fugly upscales, the direct equivalent of which would be to take a low res youtube video and reencoding it to HD.

Don’t worry if you’ve never heard of any of this before, we’ve only explained it about a hundred times (and that’s not an exaggeration.)

    • I know what upscaling is, but looking at the raw’s quality, it does not look like an upscaled 480p version. Maybe my eyes are just bad, but it still looks like any 720p version I’ve ever seen.

If you know from who released it that it’s an upscale then I have to declare that im ignorant on that part, I don’t usually download RAW’s ( though I should ) so to my knowledge when it says x720, it’s probably 720p.

But you can probably see it on the file size, though that to me would just mean a lower bit-rate. And not necessarily a scale up.

Anyway, thanks for taking the time to release the subs in the first place, would take too much time I don’t have if I had to do it myself :) …

Oi! Thank you for not posting that on the main page. You don’t want to be responsible for people having se-se-seizures fr-fr-from that.

      Sigh..

Take as long as you need to release. You guys do a better job than most other subbers of this series (that I know of, anyway), so I’m content to wait.

    I always wait WhyNot-fansub

    I applied

  17. JohnVaughan says:

Generally, how long does typesetting an episode take? I figure it varies, but just an estimation would be helpful. If I suddenly and magically have the time/update my OS/get new video software, I’d practice a bit and see if I could contribute.

    • AsuraE says:

It varies… a lot. Some weeks it’ll be 5 seconds of copying from previous scripts and others it can take up to 2 hours if there’s a shit ton of signs.
