Steins;Gate Fuka Ryouiki no Déjà vu

[WhyNot] Steins;Gate - Fuka Ryouiki no Déjà vu [BD 720p AAC][034B1175].mkv_snapshot_00.17.03_[2013.12.15_03.43.38]

We’ve been working on this non-stop since I received the BD.

Few things to note:
The subs that came with the BD were pretty mediocre. We’ve fixed up and polished them.
Officially, Okabe’s saying is “El Psy Kongroo” not “El Psy Congroo.” This was a mistake in CR’s translation of the TV series. Steiner has confirmed this and the official English release of the VN will be consistent.

Info: 1920×1080 + FLAC, 1280×720 + AAC

    i really can’t wait for ur 1080p release…

  2. raccoongoon says:

Hmm… Some things are even better after you wait on them for months,

    Thank you glorious WhyNot people

  3. So will 1080p be FLAC or DTS-HD? Because I think it sad FLAC, then DTS-HD and now again FLAC, but maybe I’m just imagening things?

    • AsuraE says:

FLAC. There was a lot of derping around due to the fact that every tool I use reports DTS-HD MA as just plain DTS.

      • trinicanh says:

In fact DTS has more quality than FLAC, just enjoy the release.

        • AsuraE says:

          …No.

If you took a source and encoded as DTS and FLAC, the FLAC encode would have the better quality. If you encoded it as DTS-HD MA and FLAC, they’d have the same quality with FLAC being a bit smaller (usually ~5-10% from what I’ve seen and played with). This is the case unless the player can’t play DTS-HD MA, in which case it plays the DTS core stream, which is pretty much the same as a straight DTS encoded stream (i.e. worse than FLAC).

          tl;dr: No

  4. Toan-kun says:

Will there be a fix for the 720p in the near future (today or tomorrow) ? Because some people in the comments above found some mistakes

  5. Anon says:

I guess there is no chance for 480p?

    • MrDrSr says:

We (almost) never release 480p. Especially on a bluray. There’s bound to be a re-encode out there somewhere. There’s a few groups that just re-encode to lower resolutions, iirc.

  6. Bracket says:

So… did you convert lossy DTS “core” to lossy AAC in the 720p version? If so, awesome.
That would just be one more reason for me to wait until you release the 1080p version.

  7. nomad_blizz says:

Eagerly waiting for the 1080p release…thanks for all the hard work.

  8. Aru says:

I think something is wrong with your release. At the mark 00:45:40 it jumps to 00:52:40, and my media player (mpv in Debian) gives this:

[mkv] Corrupt file detected. Trying to resync starting from position 2049650550…
    [mkv] Cluster found at 2049997386.

  9. Guy says:

How about a 1080p release without the pointless FLAC bloat? That’d be nice.

    • AsuraE says:

Why? Just… why? The 1080p video itself is pointless bloat.

      • z411 says:

This movie was most likely animated and rendered at more than 720p. Not pointless.

        • AsuraE says:

Did you really just respond to me three times saying the same thing? Anyway, this isn’t anything higher than 720p. I’ve seen the BDs and I’ve made the comparisons. If you want to download the 1080p then go ahead, but it’s mostly a waste of time and space.

  10. QUICKSORT says:

Damn Steins;Gate has such a great story.
    Thank you Nitro+
And thank you WhyNot. You guys are the only group that did this series properly.

  11. Bracket says:

Are you sure it’s not DTS “core”? I would think at least one of the tools you use would show you it’s DTS-HD MA.

The drive or software used to rip the Blu-ray might not have support for DTS-HD, leaving you with DTS “core” (lossy).

    http://www.dvd-guides.com/guides/blu-ray-rip/254-dts-hd-how-to-rip-it

    • AsuraE says:

Yep, sure it’s actually DTS-HD. As for whether or not the ripper drive supported it, that’s mostly irrelevant (unless of course there’s funky stuff going on and the secondary stream is on some protected part of the BD).

  12. z411 says:

How so? Anime movies are often animated at more than 720p, ofteh 955p.

  13. moosanyc says:

Does anyone have the subs available for download I have the Raw 720p file but no Eng Subs

  15. z411 says:

Ah yeah that was accidental, my comment wasn’t appearing and I later noticed NoScript was fucking it up.

  16. varthshenon says:

Is it worth 1080p? (I’m asking WhyNot?, behehe)
If so then I’ll wait for it, because this show worth for the best.

  17. XZXZ says:

    Thank you very much WhyNot.
you made my dream of watching the movie came true.

  18. dcneorok says:

    1080p WIN! >w<

Out of curiosity – when you were planning to use the original DTS-HD and not FLAC what made you revert to the lossless again?

  19. Kurt says:

    >[1D048596]
    >1.048596

    Goddamn it. whynot pls

  20. Excalibur says:

I can’t wait for this 1080p available at your DDL.

  21. Cryptox says:

What about the last 6 episodes of the series in 1080p? i’m waiting and waiting and i will finally starting a marathon

  22. Angel says:

How can I seed the file after I patch it?

  23. Angel says:

That will cause this torrent to die pretty fast, right? (because unless you want two copies of the movie in your pc, you are pretty much forced to hit and run).

  24. lodarky says:

    Ahh…After a long time wait…
    thank you.

  25. guywithaplan says:

Just going to say, the subs were AWESOME. Fully understood everything, and MUCH better then the second rate subs I’ve found for this movie elsewhere. Everything was very well done and I loved it! Thanks you guys for all the hard work! (PS, the 720 looks beautiful so stop whining about the 1080)

  26. FitzCatalyst says:

Thank you so much for the release! I’ve been a fan of this group for a while, such great quality work.

  27. Bummy says:

Thank You! I cant wait to watch this!

  28. Zekiel says:

Thank you very much ! You have really done a good job.

  29. Fal says:

I loved this movie. It was amazing. Just curious, is it possible I can get a link to the font used in the ED? It looks really nice.

  30. T.U.M. says:

You sir have just given me a reason to study. Shall watch this right after! Thanks a bunch for this!!!

  31. fayt4d says:

Hey, Whynot, just downloaded and patched your 720p release, but now the movies messed up? It sounds like the background music is much louder than the voices, often where it sounds like the voices are coming from a distance like a speaker in a subway/train station :S

Additionally there are times when the voices cannot be heard at all, just the background music and the subs but i cannot hear the voices of any characters. I tried and tested this all in VLC, any help?

    Cheers

    • Quattro says:

Use a better player. And the audio wasn’t changed at all. Which crc are you trying to patch from? If you downloaded the latest torrent, then it’s already patched.

    • AsuraE says:

It’s most likely an improper audio setup, so you’ll be hearing 2 channels where the background is at normal volume but the voices aren’t (since they’re on another channel)

  32. someone10 says:

finally, thank you very much but the DLL url is not working.

    • dgw says:

WhyNot doesn’t provide DLL downloads. They are not providing software here.

But yeah, looks like kintoki is down.

      • Quattro says:

We turned off the ddl server for the time being. Our bandwidth got absolutely raped after we released the movie. As in like 4TB in a few days. It’ll be back next month.

        • dgw says:

I guess this is what they call a good problem to have. 4TB in a few days is a lot, so it’s understandable that you’ve shut it off. Hopefully future readers will see your comment.

          • Quattro says:

Kintoki is actually our XDCC bot, and the files on the DDL server are just whatever is hosted on Kintoki (the bot). XDCC is still up and running, but the DDL server isn’t.

  33. Monster says:

Will you guys release 1080p with lesser size instead of 8gb?

  34. Burak Solt says:

Thank you so much! I translated this movie from your English translations to Turkish. I really really appreciate your works. Way to go! (though ı used your karaokes without Whynotsubs’s consent…)

  35. Ray says:

You guy’s are the best!! Thank you- best christmas gift ever! ;D

  36. Meh says:

lol, Ive been saying it was El Psy Kongroo ever since the part where it shows the phone image that has EPK in the image’s name.

  37. Poking My Head In (You May or May Not Know Who This Is) says:

I’m not trying to be snarky, but if the saying is officially “El Psy Kongroo”, then why does my officially licensed shirt I bought from Japan say, “El Psy Congroo”. It seems to me like they wouldn’t have had any reason to use CR’s TL for their shirt.

    • Quattro says:

Because that’s wrong then. What “officially licensed” shirt did you buy? Merch I’ve seen here actually uses K. Also, ever wonder why Okabe’s email address is sg-epk@jtk93.x29.jp?

We aren’t just randomly saying this. Steiner has worked on the official localization for the Steins;Gate VN and in communications with Nitro+ they confirmed the spelling as Kongroo. What other proof do you need? Is some random shirt you bought more accurate?

  38. bwo_j says:

    Just for the record only:
00:50:53 ‘It was crueler than death!’

Think it’s more fitting to be ‘That’s even more cruel than death!’ (Googled, both forms are correct. I’m more accustomed to ‘more cruel’ but that’s beside the point.) :)

The following line can add ‘… disappear too!’ for more impact with the subsequent reply.

Many thanks to WhyNot team, I enjoyed the whole series.

  39. Escape says:

How come when I finished torenting, I end up with a .file instead of an .mkv?

  40. Septone says:

Hello, I have finished downloading the 720p Release. Then downloaded the v2 Patch of it. Extracted it on the same folder, renamed the movie file name said the txt file. The only problem is… I accidentally open the old delete files.bat and you know what happened next? The movie file is nowhere to be found! No!

So question is, is there a way to retrieve that file? I tried Recuva but It didn’t find the file.

    • Quattro says:

You don’t need to patch the file from the torrent. That patch file only works for the old version which is no longer available.

      • Septone says:

Oh… well… you guys should have edited the article that the torrent’s already been updated to avoid misunderstandings.

So there is no way to retrieve the file, eh? Guess, I have to download it again.

        • Quattro says:

It is updated. We even included the crc of the v2 so there wouldn’t be confusion. You should read more carefully.

        • AsuraE says:

Wait wait wait… if I’m understanding this right, you renamed the v2 file to the v1 file, then ran the wrong bat file, and it’s our fault for not saying that you don’t need to patch the already updated version?
